Idris is a bellydancer from Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She is one of the founding members of the Kingston Belly Dance Collective which is an umbrella for all the troupes of varying styles in the Greater Kingston Community to work together for the good of the community through the production of charity shows and galas.
She does not teach dance as in her day to day life she is a teacher and dance is an escape from the daily grind but if there are any viewers from Southwestern Ontario she is more than happy to provide you with names and contacts of some great teachers in the area. Her advice for one and all is simple….If you have a song in your soul then dance to it, that’s likely why it’s there.
Batavia is a trio of like-minded ladies, drawn together by a desire to do things just a little differently. Pulling from a diverse belly dance background, they seek to entertain with performances that are just a little off-center. They invite you to take a walk with them through misty, snow-dusted forests where the shadows speak of ancient rites and even older goddesses… or you can follow them on Facebook.
