This will be a simple puja ceremony celebrating the many attributes of the Dark Divine Mother. It will feature a recitation of the Tantric Praise of the Goddess (Tantraloktam Devi Suktam) from the scripture Chandi Path (also known as The Devi Mahatmaya).

This ritual is to honor The Crone and the Dark Mother. We will be doing some movement, meditation, singing, and a guided visualization. There will also be a segment for inner reflection and you may opt to have a pen and paper handy to record your thoughts, images, and impressions of the experience. Feel free to dress comfortably or in ritual attire. The choice is yours.

If you’re like me, despite the years of study and really trying to connect with the Divine Dark and the Shadow Self, there is still an automatic prejudice against the word “Dark”. We easily call the transitions and frustrations of life’s journey the Dark Times. Depressions and anger can be considered going to a Dark Place. And need we mention the infamous “Dark Side?”
Happily, there is more to the Darkness than the media hype. There is self-discovery, acceptance, and the cool, calm embrace of unconditional love. Because unconditional love doesn’t just come from the sunshiny days. It comes from knowing everything we are capable of, even in the Hidden Dark.

Explore the contemplative mythology for each of the gifts–weapons & boons–that the gods bestow upon Devī, as she rises to embody the vision of Supreme God/dess. Every religion and spiritual practice have rules and rituals for being “clean.” Spiritual baths are used for cleansing, calming, jinx-breaking, attraction, and centering. In this workshop, we will explore the concept of magical bathing in the Conjure/Hoodoo tradition. Participants will learn how to blend a spiritual herb bath and a floor wash at home.
